Derriaghy CC Football Club was formed in 1982 by members of the Derriaghy Cricket Club who were mainly looking for a winter sport to keep them together outside of the summer cricket season. Many of the original football members were cricket players or social members of the club which had its clubhouse at Queensway on the main Lisburn to Belfast road.
After obtaining the use of a pitch at Fullerton Park, Dunmurry through Lisburn Borough Council the club entered the Lisburn League 2nd Division, playing their first match at home in August 1982. A relatively successful first season saw them finish joint fourth, and as a result of league restructuring were promoted for the following season. Here they remained until 1987 during which time they reached 2 cup finals but lost on both occasions. They then joined the Northern Amateur Football League playing in Division 2C where they drew their first match 1-1 away to Bangor Swifts.
During 1990 a second team was formed playing their home matches at Dunmurry High School before moving to Fullerton Park. Like the first team they have also enjoyed league success winning 3E in 1992/93 and 3D in 1998/99 and currently playing Division 3C. The second team have also had Cup success wining the NAFL Templeton Cup in May 2004.
The club moved once again to Seycon Park, Seymour Hill where both teams play their home matches. Clubrooms have also been erected where both teams meet before games.
